Hey, just stumbled on your Mercy animation and I wanted to tip my hat off to you. I'm not really into Overwatch but the animation itself is simply astounding, the motion is great and smooth and all the little details like him grabbing her arm etc. just left me in awe. I'm a sfm debutant still struggling with the robotic uncanny valley so this is very inspiring to me. From what I saw of your sfm sessions you use a lot of bookmarks, is it how you smooth everything ?

I don’t feel qualified to give animation advice but here are some ways I smooth my animations. Firstly I spam the crap out of the spline (3) hotkey on my keyframes. SFM happens to be the buggiest piece of animation software in existence and I don’t trust it to keep my curves intact in the graph editor. Sometimes there’s no choice, such as when a bone is parented/unparented and leaves a bunch of curves you don’t wanna touch. But sfm will screw those up anyway because fuck you.

You can also get a better look at the graph curves of a bone by locking it. The parent bone stops affecting it so you get pristine curves with no outside influence.

I’ve found the motion editor’s (which actually isn’t buggy like the graph) smooth and round presets super useful for smoothing stubborn parts of an animation. You might select just rotation or position, or a single axis, maybe lock the bone, select a green area, drag the handles to create falloff, and use either preset (rarely to full).

One more trick is to watch your animation in slow motion to get a much clearer view of imperfections. I remember finding out the hotkey for this but it ended up breaking shit in sfm tradition. The other way to do it is by dragging the upper part of the clip editor timeline and letting go. You have to drag very little for slow-motion playback.

I got a lot of requests for variations but I can’t. The save is utterly broken and renders corrupt more often than not. Well, I hope it’s only this scene otherwise I might as well uninstall this buggy POS. So no to more skins or angles or Mercy with a big black cock.

Dunno. It’s a body hack with Vaylin. I sort of regret it since she only has 2 spine bones.

My process is a lot of screwing around and praying to Gaben. Lately I’ve been using cumballs with a mix of the first and second flexes. You can make them appear/disappear through scaling or adding an animset to $alpha in material overrides. Barbell”s cum prop is still king for stretchy strings and such. I’ve already explained the particle effects. Not sure what else to add.

Hi, I have a question regarding cum particles: I don't quite get how they work, how am I supposed to make 'em flow slower, or make them smaller and spurt will less force? Are there some tutorials I can check? (I'm using Barbell's Cum Tech btw)

I only know the basic particle settings.

Emission duration decides how long it spurts out. Lower values create shorter bursts.

Lifetime decides how long before the emitted particle disappears. Usually kept high unless I’m aiming the cumshot at a body part and don’t want it coming out the other side.

Timescale slows or speeds it up.

You can accomplish a LOT more in the particle editor but it’s a scary place. I think the setting I had changed to reduce the overall strength was Position Within Sphere Random > speed in local coordinate system max/min.

I’m sure you can get better looking cumshots with cum splat or cumball but this stuff really burns me out

It’s not that simple. Props come from big packs and can have vague names and folder paths. I’ve already listed the ones I think I used. You might also need dota source 1 files which can’t even be ported from the game anymore. Sorry for getting your hopes up?

I also use a slightly edited barbell cumtech particle. This was done years ago but from what I recall it lessens the strength/distance of the cumshots. You’ll still need the rest of the particle files from sfmlab.
